HPRL MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of HPRL is to do meaningful accident research and determine the many ways in which head injuries occur in transportation, sports and industrial accidents. These research findings then must be used to improve the applications of science and technology and reduce the occurrence and severity of head injury in those accidents. The research results will be applied through a variety of scientific publications, consulting, advisement and public service activities.

The directions of the Head Protection Research Laboratory are determined by this theme:

"THE TRAGEDY OF HEAD INJURY DESTROYS LIVES AND FAMILIES, AND THE HEAD PROTECTION RESEARCH LABORATORY WORKS TO PREVENT THESE DEATHS AND DEBILITATING INJURIES BY USING SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TO IMPROVE HEAD PROTECTION."
